why five?

5-a-day, the easy way!

At Thrive on Five we make it really easy for you to include more vegetables in your diet by offering a range of delicious dishes or recipes, each containing a minimum of 5 different vegetables to help you achieve your 5-a-day.

Why 5?

Eating at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables each day is the single clearest piece of dietary advice given by the World Health Organisation and the NHS.  Source: NHS ChoicesReduced risk of heart disease, strokes, some cancers, obesity, diabetes and osteoporosis are just some of the proven benefits.

Should it be 5, 7 or 10?

Recent research has indicated we may need even more than 5, a pretty tough target, even for those who consider themselves healthy eaters. Source: BBC NewsBut one thing is certain, we should all be getting at least 5, so getting all 5 in one dish is a perfect way to start.

We turn vegetables into something delicious and tasty to eat. No gimmicks, no tofu or tempeh, just five or more varieties of vegetable, creatively combined into one wholesome dish.
